WINDOWS SERVER 2019 REMOTE DESKTOP SERVICES 50 USER CAL

The Windows Server 2019 Remote Desktop Services (RDS) 50 User Client Access License pack grants 50 named individual users the legal right to connect to sessions hosted on an RDS-enabled Windows Server from any device they own or use. User CALs are ideal for organizations where employees need flexible access to their sessions from multiple endpoints — desktops, laptops, tablets, or smartphones — since the license travels with the user rather than being tied to a specific device. This licensing model is particularly cost-effective for remote workforce scenarios, field workers, and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environments.

Each User CAL permits connections to full Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) sessions, RemoteApp published applications, and Remote Desktop Web Access. When combined with RD Gateway and RD Connection Broker, IT teams can deliver a complete virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) or application streaming environment to end users over the internet with SSL encryption. User CALs must be tracked against named users and assigned prior to access. Compliance with Microsoft licensing requires purchasing one User CAL per unique person who accesses the RDS environment, regardless of the number of devices or sessions they initiate. These CALs stack with existing Server Standard or Datacenter licensing.
